A logo embodies your company’s product, its individuality, image and intention. It acts as an identifying symbol and establishes your position in the marketplace. A logo communicates a message that the target group will learn, recognize, and ultimately be influenced by. An icon is typically more literal than a logo and often represents a function or subset. Since metaphors always clear things up: If a logo is the tree, an icon is a leaf. Get it?
