Lauren’s Roadtrip: Raleigh, NC

We made it to Raleigh, North Carolina last night and caught up on a couple of episodes of “Game of Thrones” at the hotel.

I then spent about an hour debating with Mike trying to explain to him why he can’t have a dragon. :-/

Most of today was spent visiting Laut Design, a cutting edge Product Design firm, learning about their capabilities and seeing some of their equipment in action—really cool stuff!

Mike joined me and I’m pretty sure this was the highlight of the trip for him.

The past 3 weeks have been truly amazing, but I can’t tell you how excited I am to be heading back home tomorrow.

ATL here we come!!!

Lauren’s Roadtrip: Richmond VA!

Ok… I’m just going to be honest here… we’re TIRED!!

After 2 weeks of intensive school work and driving, meetings, business work and homework everyday since— a girl (and a monster) need a break!

After we arrived in Richmond last night we decided just to stay in at the hotel and chill out. Mike seems to be adjusting quite well to hotel life—and he was even sweet enough to make the coffee this am!

Meeting today was with our good friends at MWV. Aren’t their headquarters snazzy!?

Lauren’s Roadtrip: Hershey PA

Last night’s drive from NYC to Pennsylvania was pretty uneventful— fortunately one of the shortest legs of the trip. Mike was crazy excited to hear that we were heading to Hershey, Pennsylvania (“The Sweetest Place On Earth”). I think he was expecting all the rivers to be flowing with chocolate syrup and the trees to have chocolates kisses hanging from the branches.

I hated to disappoint him so I let him drink some of my Diet Coke and get chocolate wasted—and now he’s too hungover to even remember. I had a great meeting today with our client, Hershey’s (I bet you already guessed that), at their corporate headquarters on Chocolate Ave. Now it’s time to get back on the road! Next stop— Richmond, VA!

Lauren’s Roadtrip: New York City!!

We made the 7 hour trek from Buffalo to NYC in TORRENTIAL downpours.. Not fun.. :-/

But this morning I woke up fresh and excited to head into Manhattan to meet with TNS, a global market research company on Madison Ave. Afterwards, I unfortunately couldn’t enjoy walking around in the city because of the weather, but on a sidenote, I was very impressed with the “Citi Bike” sharing system. There are literally thousands of bikes at different locations all over the city that are available to rent (from an unmanned kiosk) 24 hrs a day! Good job New York! Next stop– Hershey, PA! Yum..

Summer Roadtrip

In case you haven’t heard, I spent the past 2 weeks in Buffalo, NY beginning my master’s program in Creative Studies. The program focuses on development and understanding of creative problem solving, leadership and facilitation skills. (Good stuff… right?)

Since I’m having to adjust to being a University student all over again and traveling by myself, my dear friends at unitOne thought I would feel a little more at home with a friend/travel buddy who can understand this new scholastic undertaking—enter Mike from Monster’s University!

Mike may, or may not, have helped me with a few of the answers.

My classes in Buffalo are now complete and Mike and I have begun our week long trek back to Atlanta. In typical Lauren fashion, I have every day booked with stops along the east coast to meet with some pretty impressive companies! So follow our journey back south– we’ll be checkin in with you each day!
