Now that we are inspecting our bags, I realize that I have had this bag for about 9 – 10 years! But it was love at first sight, so in my eyes the bag still looks as good to me as it did the first time I saw it in the window of a small shop in the middle of Rome, Italy.

I had just finished visiting the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN. It had been an interesting day of meeting a lot of people and having a delicious Italian lunch on a patio under a roof of leaves. On the way back to the hotel, I remembered that I had seen something out of the corner of my eye when I had rushed by that morning. Now, I was determined to look more closely. And there she was! Such a beauty – and with a price to knock my socks off!

Well, what can I say; what could I do in the eye of love? You might think I am the stoic German. But hey.. here I was in Rome..in Italy, and just had to give in to the romance of it all!

And as with any good love story, we live happily ever after. We are getting a little frayed at the edges as we go through life together, but she holds my secrets as I will hold hers.

I have been very busy ever since I joined the unitOne team, although I am considered the most laid back canine of the bunch. That of course makes me really cool. Not that I care too much. But sometimes it gets me a belly rub.

Anyway. Now for the New Year some more responsibilities have been added to my schedule. Besides napping, barking, sniffing, leash pulling and snacking, I now also have to write a blog. Anybody ever tried to use those few minutes of reading for a quick power nap??? But I guess I have no say in that matter…

So since I have to write something I decided to give you very crucial information – if you want to continue on the sunny side of life – about:

CHEESE

(my favorite snack, closely followed by bacon which I will elaborate on in my next blog)

Ever had any? Surly, a very yummy snack…

I have had Gouda and Brie and some other stuff, possibly Dutch or maybe Italian. The best so far though is Coastal Cheddar from England, which I have delivered in serious quantities from Costco. Lucky for me there is a place like that so my owner does not have to go so often. This yellow cheese is delicious in thin slices or small cubes – and as I came to find out a couple of days ago, is not so shabby in big pieces as well. It might be that the plate was not totally for me but – hey – it was on the couch, my couch, so there was some intention I am sure. And being scolded and being told not to do this again doesn’t seems so bad when most of your blood has left the brain and helps digest the good English treat in your belly.

Overall, cheese makes life brighter and you should have some too. Let me know if it causes you to do things you shouldn’t be doing.
